The Neurodivergent Naturopath Method

The whole family approach

The Neurodivergent Naturopath Method is a whole person and family centred approach to supporting neurodivergent health. Many people are told their challenges are behavioural, psychological, or something they should simply push through. In reality, digestion, brain chemistry, nervous system regulation, sensory processing, and the family environment all influence how a person experiences the world.

Rather than focusing on one symptom at a time, this method recognises that wellbeing is shaped by several interconnected biological and relational systems.

The Neurodivergent Naturopath Method focuses on five core foundations that influence energy, mood, focus, digestion, feeding experiences, and emotional regulation. By supporting these systems together, care moves beyond symptom management toward building stability, resilience, and confidence for individuals and families.

This approach allows us to understand the whole picture and create strategies that are practical, compassionate, and tailored to each person’s unique needs.

The method

1. Digestive Foundations
Supports gut health, microbiome balance, and nutrient absorption so the body has the biological resources it needs for growth, mood regulation, and learning.
Focus areas include digestion, microbiome ecology, inflammation balance, and nutrient status.

2. Brain Signalling
Supports the biochemical processes that influence mood, focus, sleep, and emotional regulation. This includes the nutrients and amino acids required for healthy neurotransmitter activity.
Focus areas include protein intake, micronutrients, neurotransmitter pathways, and cognitive resilience.

3. Nervous System Safety
Helps children move out of chronic stress states and into regulation, where sleep, learning, digestion, and emotional balance become easier.
Focus areas include stress physiology, regulation capacity, sleep rhythms, and emotional safety.

4. Sensory Feeding Confidence
Builds positive, pressure free experiences with food for children who struggle with textures, smells, or new foods. This pillar recognises the role of sensory processing and nervous system safety in feeding.
Focus areas include sensory processing, food exploration, texture tolerance, and rebuilding trust with food.

5. Family Regulation
Recognises that children regulate through relationships. Supporting parents and reducing family stress creates the conditions for children to feel safe enough to grow and learn.
Focus areas include co regulation, parent support, sustainable routines, and reducing feeding pressure cycles.
