About

Sarah Hooper

Naturopath &  Paediatric Counsellor

Sarah Hooper

Hi, I’m Sarah Hooper, The Neurodivergent Naturopath (and a Paediatric Counsellor).

I’m a Brisbane based naturopath passionate about supporting neurodivergent children and their families through holistic, evidence informed care. With a Bachelor of Health Science in Naturopathy, I create personalised strategies that support the body and nervous system gently and realistically.

As a mother of three neurodivergent children, and being autistic and ADHD myself, I understand the lived reality behind autism, ADHD, ARFID, sensory challenges, and the day to day load that families carry. My background in early childhood education adds another layer to my work, blending science based support with practical insights into child development and family dynamics.

I also work in women’s hormone health, supporting women through postpartum recovery, perimenopause, menopause, and hormonal transitions. This experience supports my whole family approach, because children thrive best when their parents feel supported too.

Alongside naturopathic care, I offer NeuroThrive Counselling for children and teens, including animal assisted therapy. My golden retriever therapy dogs, Sage & River bring comfort, calm, and connection to sessions.

Providing quality, neuro-affirming care for autistic families, with support that feels steady, clear, and compassionate.

"Sarah's calmness made her instantly relatable and her accurate insights were amazing. My session with Sarah gave me clarity and tools to move forward with ease, not only for myself - they were tools I could teach my children to help heal their hearts too. Finding a practitioner who truly sees and understands neurodivergent children is a blessing, and that is exactly who Sarah is. She has this beautiful way of connecting with children that supports who they are and how they experience the world. For families with neurodivergent kids, her gentle and affirming approach is easy to recommend.

I had the privilege of observing Sarah while she was completing her clinical practicum, prior to opening her own practice, The Neurodivergent Naturopath. I was genuinely blown away by the way she held space for her clients. Her empathy and deep consideration for each individual case was remarkable. The sense of safety in her consultations was palpable. You could feel it the moment someone sat down. She created an environment where clients felt heard, respected and understood. What stood out most was her unique way of assessing her clients, many of whom were neurodivergent, and developing treatment plans that felt supportive rather than overwhelming. Her recommendations were practical, achievable and thoughtfully tailored to each person. She has a beautiful way of breaking things down into manageable steps that empower her clients to move forward with confidence. Sarah is a practitioner who combines clinical skill with genuine compassion. I have no doubt she will make a profound difference in the lives of those she works with.

Sarah is a knowledgeable, caring, and understanding naturopath. She listens and takes the time to get to know you and she has a great ability to connect and communicate and explains information so clearly. My daughter and our family have really benefited from Sarahs input as we navigate her hashimotos. I highly recommend Sarah if you are looking for a naturopath.

When I started seeing Sarah, I was exhausted and overwhelmed. I felt like I was always on edge. Sarah has helped settle my nervous system, educated me about stress/relaxation, educated me on the food/brain relationship. as well as helped me with other health concerns. I am still on my journey but I feel 100x better than when I first started seeing her. I have seen multiple Naturopaths in my years but Sarah has a great attention to detail and just seems to know exactly what I needed while still being conscious of my budget and time. She provides a non judgemental comfortable and relaxing space. We also started seeing Sarah when my daughter was complaining of regular tummy pains. Sarah was great with my daughter in our consult, she used age appropriate questions and explanations. my daughter kept engaged in the conversation. After recommending some supplements to help restore her gut and food suggestions. I haven't heard my daughter complain of tummy pains for awhile. We also have the products and knowledge if she does. I can't thank or recommend Sarah enough for all of her help.
